Radiative pulsation models of beta Cephei stars

R. Smolec and P. Moskalik, Nicolaus Copernicus Astronomical Center, Warsaw, Poland

We have calculated several nonlinear radial pulsation models of beta Cephei stars. Our models are purely radiative. Full-amplitude, monoperiodic limit cycles were calculated using Stellingwerf's (1974) relaxation technique. Radial modes were treated as representative for all acoustic oscillation. Comparison of the model amplitudes and amplitudes observed for monoperiodic beta Cephei pulsators led to conclusions about amplitude saturation mechanism in these stars (see Smolec and Moskalik 2007 for the details).
